Naturalis stocks an eclectic inventory: lots of earth-friendly goods, plus, as Whitehead’s husband, Gareth, puts it, products evoking “things that are natural, wildlife and everything that is good and wholesome in the world.” Hmm. Does that explain the $9,300 four-poster bed made of bronze-embellished re-bar? (When not found in bedrooms, re-bar is used to reinforce concrete.) Customers don’t seem interested in debating the logic. In the two weeks since Naturalis opened its doors, business has been strong. It has even sold a Mercedes.
