Allen served a one-game suspension after he engaged in a confrontation with teammate Nick Calathes, according to ESPN.com’s Marc Stein. While and Allen and Calathes did engage in a heated exchange, they did not become physical, Stein reports.

Based on the report, Allen’s suspension was mostly the result of his decision to wave off an assistant coach who attempted to ease tensions after the altercation.

Allen did not play in the Grizzlies’ Tuesday home game against the Jazz.
