Kevin Flynn is from Seattle, Washington, and shared his haircut story on Reddit on Wednesday where it has since received more than 19,000 upvotes and thousands of comments.

In the post, Flynn shared a picture of himself in the mirror, showing his new haircut that included an unfortunate slip that had left him with a shorter patch of hair at the back of his head.

Flynn told Newsweek: “The clipper blade guard popped off and as a result, nicked the back of my head. The hairdresser was very shocked and apologized profusely. She let me know she wouldn’t charge for the haircut.”

“That really sucks,” said one commenter on the viral post, while another Redditor said: “It’s actually quite charming.”

Meanwhile, many commenters rushed to share a solution with the concerned groom-to-be.

“Buy the spray that covers grey roots,” suggested one commenter, while others went for the more DIY option, suggesting: “Just color it in with brown sharpie,” and “Brown eyeshadow would work covering the spot.”

“I was shocked how much feedback I got. Pretty cool how people from all over can give their two cents,” said Flynn. “I had a generous stranger offer to photoshop my wedding photos to hide the patch if needed.”

Other Redditors suggested that the groom commits to the new shorter-hair look. “Time for your first skin fade,” wrote one user. While another said: “A fade can easily fix that.”

While grooming is perhaps more traditionally associated with the bride prior to the big day, the men’s grooming industry has increased dramatically in recent years. Grand View Research estimates a compound annual growth rate of the U.S. men’s personal care market of 9.1 percent between 2022 and 2030.

A 2021 survey by L.E.K. reported that 26 percent of all men purchase their personal care products instead of having a significant other do it for them.

Thankfully, Flynn has had plenty of ideas following his viral post on Reddit’s r/mildlyinfuriating forum.

“I tried a spray called magic root cover-up. My fiancé suggested I try it and then shortly after posting, several people also recommended it in the comments,” he explained. “It seems to work pretty well.”

Not the only wedding hair debacle to gain viral attention this week, a bride was blasted online after demanding that her soon-to-be stepdaughter cut her hair before her wedding in case she upstaged the bride.
