Some of these areas are much harder to find than others, as players will usually only receive small context clues as to where they are. Players will know they’ve found a location if they spot the outline of a Trial Marker, which they then must build up using materials in order to complete the quest. There are many of these locations sprinkled around Grounded, but Trowel Gulch seems to be a particularly tricky location for some players. Here’s a look at where players can find and activate Trowel Gulch.

How To Find Trowel Gulch In Grounded

The only clue players have for finding this cryptic location is in its name. The tooltip for the quest itself refers to the area as Spade Gulch, but the name for the quest calls it a Trowel. To find the location and complete the quest, players need to head to a spot that features a Trowel, a small hand shovel often used for gardening. Although there are a small handful of shovels and other digging tools sprinkled around the Backyard, the exact one players are looking for is in the Grasslands, nearby the Eastern Flooded Zone, to the North.

If players open their map, they can spot the Eastern Flooded Zone as the large body of water in the Southeastern part of the map, just North of the large Hedge. Trowel Gulch is just North of the top-left tip of the Eastern Flooded Zone and is located in a large grouping of rocks. There, players will spot a large metal spade stuck diagonally into the dirt. There is a large trench here and players will find the quest marker they must complete at the bottom of the trench. Nearby, there is also a wall of Acorns that will unearth a small cave when broken.

Completing this quest will reward players with 100 Science. These quests can be a great source of Raw Science, which comes in handy as players progress and recipes begin to get more expensive.
