As seen in the video below from the YouTuber and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas fan known simply as “PrinceY”, Spider-Man fans can get a look at the Web Head in the Rockstar game as he soars through the air with the help of his trusty web shooters while donning the new suit from Insomniac’s PS4 exclusive. What’s more is that the mods used change up the HUD, add Peter Parker dialogue and iconic “thwip” audio cues, and even lets one do trick flips while traversing by web swings.
Despite how aged the graphics in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas look by today’s standards, it’s impressive to see how accurately the mods used by PrinceY manage to depict Spider-Man’s suit from Insomniac’s version of the character. Sure, the abilities that Spidey has with the mods in place are limited–wall crawling and web swinging looks to be about as in-depth as it gets–but at the very least they should give GTA: San Andreas owners a fun romp as the Marvel hero.
Taking all of this into consideration, while the mods PrinceY implements to generate Insomniac’s Spider-Man in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas will delight fans of the character, it makes one wonder whether or not the modding community will try to add the PS4 exclusive’s take on him into GTA 5. After all, there are plenty of Marvel-inspired mods for the latest entry in the franchise, including Iron Man, the Incredible Hulk, and Magneto, and Insomniac’s Spider-Man would be a great fit alongside such figures.
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is available now for PC, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Xbox, and Xbox 360.
